Do Dutch sheep say, "baaaaah?"
B and I took a long bike ride through the Dutch countryside yesterday where we saw these guys. I wonder what the odds are that my socks were made from this girl's wool?
Tomorrow is Queen's Day, a public holiday. The festivities start tonight, and we'll be heading to Amsterdam tomorrow to see the craziness. We missed it last year. It sounds a bit like Mardi Gras in New Orleans without the parades and beads, but lots of public drunkenness nonetheless.
Aside from the drinking, it is the day to haul your old junk out to the curb to sell it off to your neighbors. The local news reported that most people expect to make about 100EUR. We're going to try to unload a desk and an office chair, a lamp, a coffeemaker, maybe some books, and some old pots and pans.
Needless to say that this isn't a weekend of knitting, although I've managed a few rows on B's socks. I got my Sensational Knitted Socks book in the mail on Friday, and B has picked out a pattern for the cuff. With his monstrous feet, it'll be awhile longer before I have anything to show for my efforts.
Have a good one, and remember to wear orange tomorrow for Queen's Day.
