Hot on the tails of my productive weekend, I had the urge to update the design of this blog. I even changed it's name! I'm on a roll, man. Watch me fly!
I got around to Googling "Jen Knits" only to discover that another Jen (there are so many of us) has a blog with that title. "Knitting Sutra" just came to me as I was contemplating the similarities between knitting and yoga. A "sutra" is a "thread" in Sanskrit. It holds things together. This just makes so much sense to me.
Once I hit on a name, ideas for a design finally started coming to me. This isn't much, but at this pay scale Typepad has limitations. There are a couple of noodley things that Typepad has locked down and I can't fix. Still, I think the look is peaceful and pleasing, and will do for now.
I want to give special thanks to the designer of the Indian embroidery-inspired border I found on iStockphoto.com. A woman named Heidi at HiDesign Graphics made it along with dozens of other similar items. She's obviously a kindred spirit. Heidi, if you're watching (and you might because I'm going to email you), thanks for offering these on iStockphoto. I will add your copyright info as soon as I can make Typepad bend to my will.
I really like the new look... it's very mellow. Relaxing, like knitting oughtta be.
Happy knitting,
ali

Hi Ali, thanks for stopping by. I was hoping for a mellow look so that the design wouldn't distract from lots of project photos. ;)
