I'm here to let you all know that if you have any trouble felting something, send it to me. I'm pretty sure my machine could felt just about anything. Got any wood chips lying around? No problem. Bag of screws? Bring 'em on!
Booga Bag = Done! Woopee! Felting is fun!
Scary.
But fun.
The final product is a bit smaller than I expected, but actually only about an inch smaller than the pattern. In the world of felting and yarn subbing, I'd say that's pretty good.
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted Merino, taureg colorway
Pattern: Booga Bag
Needles: 8mm circular
Wash Cycle: Washed once in 95C water with crazy high spin cycle
Notice something a little different? Hey look at that? The color is, uhm, not the same. Seems the kettle dye wasn't set so well. I ended up with a very 1960's blue. Jackie O. would be so proud. I like it. It's just not what I expected, and I'm not sure it matches anything I own. Who am I kidding? This is Smurf blue. I may gift this. Can't decide. I once lived across the street from someone who painted their house that color. We laughed and laughed. And laughed some more.
In case you forgot, here's what it looked like minutes before I threw it in the wash.
Aside from the color change, which I attribute to ultra, unnecessarily hot water, the bag acquired a few wrinkles that I couldn't stretch out. I blame this on ridiculously high spin cycle. It was almost dry when I pulled it out! Well you live and learn.
Meanwhile, there's this:
Projects recently finished: 3; Projects on needles: 2, almost 3, Sock projects on needles: 0; Projects destined for frog bin: 0, Projects on deck: 2; Hours spent Raveling: 2 many!
Hehe, I would have finished my current sock if I didn't spend so long on Ravelry!
I love the bag. Felting is something I have never tried but am keen to give it a go. It looks quite fun.

Your bag is absolutely gorgeous, and what a beautiful color too - great job indeed, and you've certainly inspired me to try my hands at knitted/felted bags soon!

You guys are all too nice! I hope the shot of the bag in front of my laptop gives you an indication of how small this bag is. I'd make the whole thing much bigger next time, b/c in the end it's just a tad too small for sock project bag, which is what I really wanted.
For all of you sniffing around felting - give it a whirl! B and I felt like mad scientists when we put the bag into the wash. It was an evil washing machine. (pinky finger lifted to corner of mouth; eyebrow raised)
